    Career coaching supports clients in redefining their career goals with practical job-search tools. This process includes identifying a career path, navigating the job market, updating résumés, crafting cover letters, and building effective networking strategies.

Who We Are

Alexa Loken

Loken Careers was founded by Alexa Loken, a career coach, educator, and serial entrepreneur with a lifelong passion for helping people move forward with purpose.

Since launching her third company in 2014, Alexa has been inspired daily by clients seeking clarity, confidence, and meaningful change in their careers. Her path spans certified career coaching at Indeed for software engineers across the U.S. and Europe, founding a cause-based marketing firm, co-founding a recruiting firm for women in tech, and early work with environmental nonprofits.

Alongside her coaching practice, Alexa is a Professor of Public Speaking and Entrepreneurship at Cal Poly and teaches Social Impact and Eco-Entrepreneurship through UCSC, drawing on degrees from American University and NYU. Based in San Luis Obispo, CA, Alexa especially loves supporting career-changers, aspiring entrepreneurs, and those pursuing social impact work-helping people align their strengths with what’s next.

Julia has worked in the consulting and tech industries for 10+ years before getting her MBA at the Wharton School of Business. Since then, she transitioned to become a psychotherapist after obtaining her Master’s of Social Work at Fordham University.

Julia has worked as a career coach and resume writer with Loken Careers for 10+ years since the beginning of the company. She combines her technical expertise from her own career and her knowledge as a psychotherapist to encourage and motivate her clients’ career goals. She also specializes in writing resumes and networking to help her clients gain traction in their job search.
